The name of my practice reflects my Texas heritage. The name "Texas" derives from the Spanish word "Tejas", which is a transliteration of the Caddo Indian word "tayshas", which means "friend", or "ally." Tejas is pronounced "tay' has." After choosing the name, my friends from India have told me that in languages such as Sanskrit, Hindi, and Telugu, "Tejas" means something like "shine" or "radiance," pronounced "thay' jus." While we're at it, note that Faught is usually pronounced so that it rhymes with "ought."
Tejas is an earth-friendly company. I buy printer paper, business cards, letterhead, checks, file folders, and trash bags with recycled content. I use rechargeable batteries. I recycle everything that can be recycled, including mixed paper, paperboard, cardboard, plastic bags, polystyrene, CDs, and inkjet cartridges. Paper from the paper shredder is composted (for added security :-). My office is powered with 100% pollution-free electricity from Green Mountain Energy. I drive a Toyota Prius, a hybrid electric Super Ultra Low Emissions vehicle (SULEV).
Tejas is a one-man show and will continue to be for the foreseeable future. However, I am in contact with many other independent consultants across the world, and we all work together to make sure that clients get the services that they need.
